I have an ego. I will be the first to admit it. At times I am inpatient and snippy and can ramble on a rant even after I say things like “I am not going to go all on about it”. Even when I try and help others, sometimes I feel like it needs to “fit into MY schedule”. Yes, I am human and one big mess (OBM)! You know what though??? GOD loves me, OBM and all!
There is NOT one human being that provides unconditional love at all times. We human creatures sure try and give it a go but most often there is condition attached. You know why?? Because we human creatures come with this driving force in us called an ego. Oh, how that ego can create OBM!!!
I think one of the hardest things in my walk with the LORD is hushing my ego. It is something I am in prayer of constantly.
There is such a thing as a healthy ego. One that is provided by our MAKER. I have seen it called “GODfidence”. That is the ego we should strive for. The bible talks much about humility and being humble. Often that goes against the world’s view of confidence, success and the ego.
Do you remember that game, opposite day? Did you ever play it when you were a kid? You said you were sad, but it really meant you were happy. A healthy ego with JESUS is kind of like that game. GODfidence comes with being okay in being unassuming, quietly loving and giving, and humble at all times; even when you perform a great fete. In all times, thanks be given to GOD who sustains us.
Esphesians 5:2 says: and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to GOD.
PRAYER: FATHER, I come to you in complete humility and ask that you keep me humble and thankful for all that you provide. Bless the reader GOD to understand the love and acceptance that comes from YOU and YOU alone, so that we can die to ourselves (ego) and be filled and driven by only YOU. In JESUS name, AMEN. And thank you JESUS for giving me what I do not deserve.
I am Deni, short for Denise. I grew up in a Jewish home, in a Jewish neighborhood and a Jewish family. In 3rd grade we moved. We moved to a mostly non-Jewish area.... that is where JESUS found me. I say found me because I yet had not acknowledged it, but would find out later.......by grace, HE HELD ME ALL ALONG, just a lil Jewish girl from Philly.
