 The start of my year so far has been challenging at best. There has been much turmoil surrounding me professionally and personally. It seemed as though so much was flying at me, I was just hitting each thing with a racket like playing a fierce game of badminton.
I have been through many trials in my life and often many at once. I am sure many of us do. There was a difference in the way I went through and am going through the current or should I say tornado. That difference is JESUS. Now I have been saved since I was seventeen. However, only recently have I truly turned over my life to the LORD. I willingly gave GOD everything (not to say I do not try and take it back). As the admitted control-freak, perfectionist work-a-holic that I am trying to change one day at a time; I can say I am seeing results, or better, fruits of the SPIRIT. Yep, those fruits: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control. GOD provides us these fruits just for the asking. Interesting that they are called fruits as when I find myself in the midst of mayhem, I actually picture myself plucking them from a fruit tree. I use the phrase “in spite of” often. To me, this is how JESUS works. No matter what is going on, JESUS provides love, guidance, safety and so much more. “In spite of” how I sin, JESUS loves, carries and cleans me from it. Whatever is going on around me, I have peace that my FATHER is pulling me though “in spite of” the feeling that I just “can’t do it”. So, 2016 – IN SPITE OF THE FACT that you started out a bit rough and tumble; I am comforted and humbled by what JESUS did for me. No matter what 2016, life or any situation may throw at me, I am fully covered by the blood of JESUS. In spite of how I may act, react, or over react. JESUS has got my back! Are you going it alone? What are you facing? No matter the depths, it is never too late or too far gone to make that decision to turn it over to JESUS! THANK YOU JESUS!
